Is it really free?
Yes. The self-hosted build is MIT-licensed and free forever, with the core POS shipped complete. Your first managed cloud outlet is free too — you only pay when you add more outlets.
Do you take a cut of payments?
Never. InBill charges 0% on every UPI, card and cash transaction. Payments settle directly to your account through your own provider.
What do I need to self-host?
A small VPS or a mini-PC in the back office, Docker, and about twenty minutes. The self-host guide walks through it line by line.
Can I move between self-hosted and cloud?
Both run the same code, so you can migrate either direction with a database export. No re-training, no data held hostage.
What support comes with the free plans?
Self-hosters get the community on GitHub and Discord. Free cloud outlets get email support; chains get priority support and guided onboarding.
Is my data safe if I self-host?
It's safer — it never leaves your hardware. You control backups and access. We publish recommended backup and update playbooks in the docs.
